Democrats Accept Major Cuts to Their Balls

Democrats Accept Major Cuts to Their Balls

Outcome Surprises No One

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) – After weeks of wrenching negotiations that went right up to the wire, Democrats in the House and Senate today accepted major cuts to their balls.

The cuts, which are expected to pass both houses of Congress on Tuesday, will give Republicans’ total custody of the Democrats’ cojones through the next election cycle.

The final hitch in the negotiations centered on how long the Republicans would keep the Democrats’ family jewels, with Democrats wanting them returned by 2012 and Republicans insisting on keeping them longer.

After much wrangling, a compromise was worked out in which the Republicans would keep the Democrats’ balls “indefinitely.”

After the deal was hammered out, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) was philosophical about an outcome that surprised no one.

“You win some and you lose some,” he told reporters. “Except that, as Democrats, only the second part is true.”

Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) said that the historic deal set the stage for more compromises between the two political parties: “Tomorrow we begin negotiating for their lunch money.”

The Democrats have disappointed - again! Part of me knows that we had to do what we had to do but when does it end? We extended the Bush Tax cuts so that the unemployed and the 9/11 First Responders could be taken care of. And I know we had to roll over in order to protect the nation's credit rating.

But what I am disappointed in is that the Democrats give in to the Republicans and then the Republicans have the b@lls to deny that it's their fault TOO.

We've been paying for the two wars on credit AND by stealing from the Social Security. Did Bush care how much his would decisions cost? All he cared about is what he wanted to do in the first place: invade Iraq. 9/11 just gave him a quick and easy excuse to do it.

If there is a God, Bush will have to face him/her someday for the choices he made. He sent thousands of American husbands/wives, fathers/mothers, sons/daughters to death. I wonder how he sleeps at night. But I guess he sleeps ok because in his mind, the only thing he regrets is what Kanye West said about him - who even cares what Kanye West has to say anyway? I guess Bush does.

I am disappointed in Obama because the he and the Congressional Democrats are always conceding their principles, hoping against hope that they’ll gain some respect in the bargain. But that’s not the way to gain respect, as any bully can tell you. Obama will be blamed even if he gives in to EVERYTHING the Republicans want. So why not go down fighting? What is he afraid of? Instead, the Democrats have let the Republicans set the topic of the discussion and the rules for the debate. The Democrats have lost before they’ve begun.

If the Democrats want changes, instead of accept them, they should offer their own tax plans and make the Republicans vote against them. Put it on record so they cannot deny it later. Stop being afraid and start doing what you were elected to do!

We do not need terrorists to bring the downfall of the United States - we have the Republican Party. We also have the likes of Rupert Murdoch and Koch brothers, manipulating messages to the ignorant, gullible masses to suit their right wing philosophies; we have Limbaugh, and Beck, spreading hate and division. They are the peddlers of doom and gold, and the millions of stupid followers, all living right here – in this country; they are the perfect formula to the destruction of the country we all love.

Agreed. Obama has trained his opponents to stick to their guns until he capitulates. They learned the lesson; I have little hope he can successfully negotiate ANYTHING with these guys. They know better than to compromise with him.

There's still a lot of important work for him to do before 2012. I doubt he'll get much done, though, and if the GOP nominates a strong opponent, he may not get another chance.

      bilweeler,

thanks for pointing out the broken link. for some reason I cannot edit the link to make it work so I copied the article. It's satire but this guy just goes straight to the point.

I do too, and it's scary. Boner's bragging that he got 95% of what he wanted (so almost everything). I wonder how he's going to spin his comment when the people start blaming (maybe already have - I hope) Boner for the mess we are in this week because of the debt deal. We have the market crashing and the downgrade in credit rating.

Something to be proud of Mr. Boehner! I hope you learn from this (doubt it)!
